THE DANCE OF DEATH

This cup is part of the Boscoreale Treasure at the Louvre Museum.
It was already buried in the ground at Pompei before the town was inundated by the AD79 eruption of Vesuvius.  So it becomes clear to us that the Dance of Death was probably a well-established meme before that time.
